Venue profile and photos: how your venue looks in the app

In short

  • Your profile is the page a player sees before booking: name, tagline, description, contact details, amenities, photos.
  • Photos: up to 5 per upload, 10 MB each, JPEG/PNG/WebP/HEIC. On Starter 5 photos in total, from Growth up effectively unlimited. Any photo can become the cover image.
  • GPS coordinates and camera data are stripped from every photo automatically on upload.

The fields of your profile

Field Limit What it is for
Name up to 200 characters the heading of your page
Tagline up to 300 characters one line under the name
Description at least 30, up to 2,000 characters your actual copy
Phone, email n/a contact details for players
Website, Instagram n/a optional links
Amenities up to 50 entries showers, parking, food and drink and so on
Timezone n/a controls when your day starts and ends

The address is maintained separately, so that the map pin can be reset. Only you as the owner may do that: of all the profile fields, a staff account can change opening hours alone, even a manager with every operational permission (see team and permissions).

editing the venue profile

Two settings that are easily missed

Minimum age. The platform minimum of 16 applies by default. If you run a venue serving alcohol or operating at night, you can raise the minimum age to 18 or 21. Players below that threshold can then no longer book with you. Lowering it below 16 is not possible.

Messages from customers. By default players can message you. If you would rather they did not, because you prefer to be reached by phone or have nobody to watch the inbox, you switch it off. You can still message your guests yourself, but not the other way round. More on that in chat and notifications.

Photos: limits and rules

Value
Per upload up to 5 files
Size per file up to 10 MB
Formats JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC/HEIF
Total, Starter 5
Total, Growth and up effectively unlimited (a 50 ceiling, purely abuse protection)
Permission owner, or a team member with "Edit photos"

The first photo is your cover image to begin with, but you can promote any other photo to it. You set the order yourself, and each photo can carry a caption.

What happens to your photos on upload

Phone photos carry invisible extra data: GPS coordinates, camera model, timestamp. openmatch strips that data from every image on upload and keeps only the image rotation, so the photo comes out the right way up. For you that means you do not have to think about what a photo of the staff area gives away in passing.

Files whose extension does not match their actual contents are rejected, so a renamed document does not get through.

Why photos decide your approval

The review of your venue by the openmatch team is a real, human look. A venue without meaningful photos gets sent back for improvement, not out of formality but because an empty page simply cannot be booked. Five to six good shots is the recommendation: the courts themselves, the entrance, the changing rooms or catering if you have them.

If you change your profile after approval, you do not go back into review; your page stays live.
